This collection is to be recommended as an addition to the current choral repertoire; it contains 19th-century a cappella music both Catholic and Protestant, with German and Latin words. There are short choral pieces in the straightforward chordal style, which impress with their homophonic writing, enabling the words to be understood clearly.
