J.C.F. Bach: Musical Leisure Hours

Description

In 1787–8 J.C.F. Bach, 4th son of J.S. Bach, published a 4-volume collection of his keyboard music, songs and cantatas under the title of Musikalische Nebenstunden. From the 69 short keyboard pieces a selection has been made for this album. The pieces are miniatures intended for light entertainment, many being in the popular dance forms of the day, and perhaps also as didactic pieces for the flourishing amateur market.
