Hřímalý is appropriate for students​ who have played for over a year and have an idea of basic note reading in the first position. The volume can be used for several years, as it transitions to two and three octave scales. It also has a few pages of excellent shifting exercises. The arpeggios are limited to the tonic and subdominant chords.
