A pupil of Charles Stanford and subsequently a professor of composition at the Royal College of Music, Thomas Dunhill (1877-1946) wrote a great deal of instructional music, especially for the piano. Felix Swinstead (1880-1959) was an English composer, pianist, and teacher. His published works were numerous, mainly consisting of pieces for piano, and often written for pedagogical purposes.
