    Description

Commissioned for the Gustavus Adolphus College Symphony Orchestra in honor of the 150th academic year of Gustavus Adolphus College, St. Peter, Minnesota. Premiered by the Gustavus Adolphus College Symphony Orchestra directed by Prof. Ruth Lin at Ted Mann Concert Hall, University of Minnesota, in Minneapolis, MN, on March 25, 2012. Inspired by the poems of Chinese ancient scholars Wang Chong (AD27-97) and Xun Kuang (BC313-238): "Faith can move mountains, and perseverance can engrave stone", my music symbolizes the hard work and achievement of the Gustavus Adolphus College during her 150 years of brilliant journey, and encourages all to keep working hard, in building our world towards a brighter future.
