    Description

    This quintet is the fifth in a series of six quintets first published in Paris around 1775 and then republished in Venice, and is based on the Venetian edition held in the British Museum. Although originally published as, Op. 21, Boccherini himself gave it the number, Op. 17 and dated it 1773.

    Although Boccherini wrote numerous vocal music pieces, symphonies and concertos, he is best known for over 300 chamber music works.
