Description

Right from the first lessons with a pupil one must develop:

  • aural awareness: beauty of tone, rhythmic stability, expressiveness in musical phrasing.
  • attention to the techniques used to achieve good playing - posture, hand position, suppleness of wrist and arm.
  • the concentration necessary in all artistic disciplines.

This method therefore involves:

  • exercises of a traditional type which allow good body and hand position to be achieved quickly.
  • pieces which develop musical awareness, knowledge of the keyboard and an understanding of different tonalities.

By linking exercises and pieces, the child soon acquires a comprehensive and imaginative view of piano's possibilities. Each part ends with a section "getting to know the keyboard" which deal with specific aspects of instrumental technique, and which can, according to each pupil's individual progress, be studied at any time.

These volumes covering the first years of study aim to enable the pupil to assimilate the necessary basics quickly, so that study of the piano can be continued without any gaps.

English text only. Theory booklet included.
