I have worked with a number of different ensembles that include strings and piano, but never for this combination. This instrumentation is the most known for Schubert's D. 677, the Trout Quintet. I wanted to take this opportunity to revisit the famous work, and see what I could do with some of the materials Schubert used in the theme and variations movement. Schubert has not been an easy composer for me. I have had a harder time appreciating his music and style, and I wanted to work on his theme with a little bit of wit and twist. Several direct quotes are used from Schubert's original work throughout this piece.\u003c\/p\u003e \u003c\/div\u003e \u003c\/div\u003e","brand":"Just a Theory Press","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":45288529494095,"sku":"JAT-165-056-SP","price":50.5,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0900\/1828\/files\/ef9c1f492c5bb7e35b08039e7af28f1a.webp?v=1779491616","url":"https:\/\/www.ficksmusic.com\/zh\/products\/sohn-the-fish-piece-version-for-clarinet-piano-trio-just-theory","provider":"Ficks Music","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
