Description
This Toccata for piano duet is inspired by Alberto Pestalozza's famous song Ciribiribin, whose lyrical charm Naji Hakim transforms through a continuously flowing and virtuosic pianistic writing.
The first section, in F Major, unfolds over an unbroken stream of semiquavers in the secondo, while the melody—played by the primo in doubled octaves and counterpointed by amphibrachic chordal figures—moves forward with rhythmic vitality and a light, propulsive touch.
In the second section, in D Major, the writing becomes fully toccata-like: primo and secondo engage in a spirited dialogue, alternating and competing in brilliance and rhythmic drive.
A central portion of Pestalozza's original theme has been deliberately omitted to preserve the unity of character in this Toccata, where the source material serves as a springboard for a concertante fantasy of exuberant joy.

When publishers offer multiple bindings (e.g. hardcover) or study scores, this is the "standard" version. If you're planning to play the music, this is probably what you want.
Performance / Playing Score
A score of the music containing all parts on one system, intended for players to share. There are not separate parts for each player.

Solo Part with Piano Reduction
