Together with Alejandro García Caturla he led the movement of Afro-Cubanism, with works such as Tres Pequeño Poems (1926), the ballets La Rebambaramba (1928) and The Miracle of Anaquillé (1929) and the Rhythmics (1930).\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Two Children's Piano Pieces (The Devil Dances and Cradle Song of the Black Child) date back to 1937 and constitute the last composition of Roldán, written just two years before his early death. Both appeared published separately and posthumously in New York by Carl Fischer in 1941.
