This volume is dedicated to writings and reflections, as well as miscellaneous musical curiosities.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFrederic Mompou is undoubtedly one of the most internationally renowned Catalan composers of the 20th century. His work, primarily for piano, draws magical resonances from the instrument that make his style unmistakable—a style also inspired, as the composer himself acknowledged, by the music of his homeland.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAs a master of sonic detail, Mompou crafted his works with great care and was extremely demanding regarding the final result. in fact, two years of tenacious work elapsed from the time he began his first compositional experiments until he deemed his first work satisfactory. But he did not always discard the material he rejected; rather, he often decided to keep it, either for later revision or to use an idea for another work.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA significant portion of this material was deposited at the Frederic Mompou Foundation, established by Carmen Bravo, the composer's widow, and another portion at the Biblioteca de Catalunya.
