This version for violin and piano was made by Martin Pierre Marsick (1847–1924), who, like Massenet, was a professor at the Conservatoire in Paris. in this still popular arrangement, the orchestral accompaniment is skilfully transcribed for the piano. with a fine sense of sound and balance, it allows for an interpretation that is both intimate and compelling – ideal for teaching, study and performance. This edition is based on the first edition published by Heugel \u0026amp; Cie. Paris in 1894.
