Description

Béla Bartók's concept of these compositions is that of a series of five individual pieces. ln preparing this 1990 corrected edition all sources (a sketch and two "final copies") have been compared with the previously printed edition and any errors have been corrected. The errors found mostly concern characteristics of the engraving, but a few instances relate to the manuscript sources themselves.
