Description
Parergon by Harald Genzmer is a 14-minute composition for saxophone orchestra (soprano, 2 alto, tenor, baritone, bass saxophone) and percussion. The work is an excerpt from the Sinfonia per Giovani and uses elements typical of the composer: It is very accessible, has a strong rhythmic drive and is fun to play. The saxophones can also be used in chorus and the work is suitable for younger players, too.
The first performance took place as part of Sigurd Raschèr's saxophone course on 23. April 1993 in Ochsenhausen (Germany).
